The very first thing we see when we are young is the roundness of things, the sun in the sky, the circular trunks of trees, the circumference of our own fingers, arms and legs, the shape of our parents heads, our mothers round breast, the appearance of her nipples at our first meal. Our world is filled with round organic shapes. In our deepest self, at the deepest level, the circle, sphere and orb give us comfort and a sense of completion and unity.

In this series of paintings, the globe, sphere, ellipse, parabola, oval and wave shapes are central elements. The paintings draw on abstracted spiritual inspirations for their content. Round feminine, voluminous elements and their subsequent movements and rhythms express the lyrical and epic content of these images. The exploration of this primary form finds its way through the body of my paintings.
